RhinoVision - Week #15

Game # Visitors Home
1 Gravy Boat Captains VS. Hemo Goblins
The Rhino's Vision:

Let us start with a bit of a history lesson: The Goblins lead this series 3-0 including a 142-48 shellacing back in week #6. What more is there to say?

Well, one could start with the Gravy Boat Captains entering this game with back to back 100+ point outings. That would seem to generally be enough to win, that's for sure. And the Hemo Goblins stumbled a bit -at least for them as the scored only a mere 85 points last week. Oh, and they're on a 7 game winning streak. Three teams have done that in the past although one of those was across two seasons. THRAK strung together 8 in 2000 on the way to their first and only championship. And Private's Parts hold the top spot with 10 in 2001, but were up ended by the paultry Dynamic Duo in the C-DC. So this week would be 8 and next week would then be nine. That's a tough sell when you start comparing it historically.

Let's break it down:
QB: Culpepper at Chicago, ouch! Speaking of ouch, McNair at Buffalo with a cracked bone spur? Double ouch! Advantage Boats, but you never know with McNair.
RB's: Portis(head) had a career game last week. A feat he's unlikely to repeat. Advantage Goblins, but if the Boats pick the right Philly trifecta...???
WR's: Goblins
K: it's a wash, they're kickers!
Defense: Goblins
Intangibles: Boats They're on a hot and the Goblin's are on a long stress filled streak.

So what is it? A Boat's upset? Maybe. I'd like to pick it that way, but the Goblins are simply better even when coasting and struggling...

The Rhino says...Hemo Goblins win by +5.

Game # Visitors Home
2 TigerSharks VS. THRAK
The Rhino's Vision:

History: TigerSharks lead 2-1 with THRAK winning 66-42 back in week #9. That was in a single back game as the TSharks started Holmes who was on a bye and THRAK played Brock Forsey who got yanked at game time.

So what will be different this time? Well you can bet that Holmes will be there this time. Both team are on a roll with the TSharks at 3 and THRAK with 4 straight. Not much else to say here, so on to the breakdown...

QB: THRAK, regardless of who starts.
RB's: THRAK lost James "twang goes the knee" Jackson last week and now turns to Jamal White. A more than capable replacement. But let's not fool ourselves. James and White both need to perform to live up to the Priest. Advantage: TigerSharks.
WR's: TSharks might have Randy, but THRAK has Johnson, Mason and McCardell. Choose wisely. Advantage: THRAK
K: They might matter here. Advantage: TigerSharks.
Defense: simple, THRAK.
Intagibles: THRAK won a number of game on one leg 'er running back.

So THRAK wins three of the five positions, so they win right? Not so fast! They don't win the all important runningback category. Oh, one other thing we haven't discussed: Holmes' KC Chiefs are coming of a bad loss to Denver, at home, against...Detroit! Game, set, match.

The Rhino says...TigerSharks win by +6.
