RhinoVision - Week #08

The Elephants are plodding along and hanging on to the North division by a slim 1/2 game lead. The Beavers are sitting back in forth place largely due the Parts sneaking up on Monday night and giving them a big 107 point kiss. Say thank you sisters.... Surely this must be frustrating for the Beav's as are being disrespected left and right or would that be North and South? In any case, all is not lost as there is a long stretch run ahead of them. This week they could take a big step forward and help out a number of teams by thumping the Elephants in the trunk. The Elephants are in a precarious position as although they lead the division, they are 0-2-1 in the division. This could be their undoing if they don't start winning their divisional game now. A loss this week could easily drop them down a few notches. This game truly is HUGE at this point in the season as the North Division is more competetive than it has ever been. The Rhino things that the pot is about to get stirred...

The Rhino says...Eager Beavers win by +3.

Well, well, what do we have here...It's the Rough Riders prancing around like they have a chance to possibly move to the top of the division. Of course they would need some help from the Beav's, but that's no suprise from these perennial losers. SQUONK found out this past week that even being a decent team can be difficult when the South rises up. Feels a little like last year I would think. But then again, it can't be nearly that bad. It's a blip at this time, but they do need to regroup this week as losing to the Riders would be far more damaging in the race for the playoff's. The Rhino is actually torn on this one. I don't know why but I just feel the Riders winning here. I can't explain it, but it just seems right. But then again, I have a brain. And it just won't let me abuse myself in such a fashion. I just don't see the Riders winning 5 straight games. That's got to be some kind of a record! Besides, SQUONK lost last week and is unlikely to stumble badly. I'll give the Riders some credit as they are playing better, but you can't keep up this streak...

MAYDAY! MAYDAY! All hands on deck...THRAK apparently signed up for a vacation cruise this weekend, but unfortunately for them it was on the USS Cole. Is the hype starting to fade and reality setting in? THRAK better hope not as they continue to struggle to keep pace with the ever improving Young Guns. Is this the week they fold the tent and slide back into the middle average they usually maintain? What's up with the Hackers this season? I'd say inconsistency, that's what. The've done well against the South, but have struggled with the tough North division. This is a chance for them to take a step back into the thick of things before it becomes a crisis situation. This game might just be a turning point for these two teams, but the Rhino's going to play the averages here...

The Guns are a flailing down under! They went on the road and basically handled SQUONK easily. Could this be the start of their quest for Joe? Quite possibly. The Chairs seem as if they may be gliding along towards the playoffs largely due to others ineptitude, but this week a dose of reality will creep on to the radar. Unless they poney up a superb effort it's going to be a long afternoon...

The Rhino says...Young Guns win by +7.

YUCK! I'd call this the dog of the week, but it's more like dog shit! Actually that's only a half truth as the Parts have taken their lumps this season and the Invaders, well the Invaders have BEEN lumps!!! The Parts are starting to play better as last week's tie is better than a loss. And a win here should pull them within a game of the Chairs. I just don't see this game requiring much discussion. Last years champ, is this year's chump...
