RhinoVision - Week #07

The Elephants folded their circus tent for the second week in a row as they dropped 1/2 game back of the reformed SQUONK. THis after last week dropping on against the lowly Rough Riders in what should have been one for the "W" column. This week it doesn't get any easier with a road trip to visit the high flying THRAK. THRAK is coming off of their second thumping of the defending champion Invaders this season. This one could go either way, and the Elephants are in the midst of a tough stretch in their schedule. THRAK just needs a solid game unless the Elephants dump a big pile...

It comes as somewhat of a shock that these two teams who must face each other this week, pulled the trigger on a trade today (10/09/00). I thought that one makes their enemies suffer the raping before the pilaging? So much for historical traditions. I don't see this trade having much of an impact on this game, or either of these teams seasons. The Beav's remain in the middle of the pack, but this trade could give them the push to move into a playoff position. I think they'd have gotten there regardless. And the Parts? Well they are suffering through their worse season ever. And you know what? The misery continues this week...

The Chairs are on somewhat of a roll while the Hackers continue to try and find themselves. This week is important to both of these teams as the Chairs need to keep pace with the Guns and THRAK, while the Hackers need to avoid digging deeper into the basement. This week the woe continues and it all turns on the QB's: MIN(flc) at CHI(h) and OAK(k) at KC. The MIN QB will have a much easier day and so will the Chairs...

I don't have a "Dog of the Week" tag yet, but I will soon. For games like these... Ah yes...the Rough Riders. The Rhino has missed the easy fodder that make. Being I didn't come back until this week, I have to ask: WHAT THE HELL WERE YOU THINKING? Not the trade, but you just dump Fred Taylor without even trying to shop him? Surely he has some worth even if it is only speculative. 'nough said. And the Invaders...how the once mighty have fallen. When's the book coming out? "From Champions to Chumps: The Invaders Story". And the movie, well pick a "Friends" star of the week and a long partying off season and I see a direct to video release here. Should we talk about the game? Why bother, as much as I love to bag on the Rough Riders, I have to say the misery continues down south...

Another real test for Young Guns and their lofty perch at the top of the South Division. They managed to stump THRAK in week #5 to roll to 5-0 in the division. A very impressive feat. But the season is still young and they have to take control of their non-divisional record if they want to stay on top. So here they are, coming off a loss that I'm sure they were counting on, but they had a letdown after the big win over THRAK. So in a week when they look to bounce back, they draw the SQUONK card. Bad choice, not that you had one. In this years Cinderella story, SQUONK has risen from the ashes of a 1-12 PUNK ASS ROOKIE season, to accend to the top of the North Division. They lead the league in points by a slim margin, but are a formidable force this year. So what's it going to be this week? The Guns pulled off a respectable trade last week, but the hex of the North, vexes them again!
